Caramel Apple French Toast Casserole

Waking up to a comforting and delicious meal is always a great way to start the day! My family loves breakfast and being able to make this casserole ahead of time is a life savor when each kid has a different schedule every morning. Lucky Leaf has created such flavorful fruit fillings that take a recipe to the next level. Caramel Apple Fruit Filling is an apple filling that tastes like fall in your mouth!

Making this ahead of time and putting it in the oven in the morning is an easy way to surprise my family with a great breakfast casserole together. I like to prepare this ahead of time and while we are all getting ready in the morning it makes it easy baking in the oven already prepared. My family devoured this casserole and I became the BEST mom ever! It started off our day with a bang and everyone was happy as can be leaving for school!

How Do You Make Caramel Apple French Toast Casserole?

  • Sprinkle with chopped pecans.

  • Add cubed bread over fruit.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, remaining sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract. Pour evenly over bread cubes. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit overnight in refrigerator.
  • Let sit for 10 minutes before cutting.
  • When ready to bake, remove from fridge and let sit while preheating oven to 350°. Remove plastic wrap and bake for 45 minutes.

Where Can I Find Cinnamon Swirl Bread?

The bread isles at most grocery stores carry a type of Cinnamon Swirl Bread. You can also find it at Great Harvest Bread or any local bakery near you. It is also fun to look for one with raisins for added flavor and texture!

Can You Leave Out the Pecans?

Yes! You can leave out the pecans or even add another nut that you prefer for a little crunch.

What Can You Substitute Caramel Condensed Milk With?

If you can’t find caramel condensed milk, add 3 T. brown sugar to regular sweetened condensed milk, and use as directed.

How Do You Store It Over Night?

In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, remaining sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract. Pour evenly over bread cubes. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit overnight in refrigerator. This will last 24 hours in the refrigerator.

Do You Cover the Casserole in the Oven when Baking?

No, you don’t need to cover this when you bake it in the oven.

Do You Need to Toast the Bread Before Baking it?

No, this toast will be ready to assemble before making it. To make it crispy or harder, the thicker pieces are better and using day old bread creates a hard side.
