Vivetta
Colored mascara has been a key trend the last few seasons. Vivetta presented a louder statement by swiping different colors on the top and bottom lashes. This blue and yellow was a favorite combo, but we were equally charmed by pink with yellow and blue with white. No matter the mix, finish the beauty look with a randomly placed embellished barrette à la the runway.
Burberry
At Burberry, hairstylist Guido Palau showed the most gorgeous way to tame baby hairs into submission with Art Nouveau-inspired loops. With hair this beautifully intricate, the face needs nothing else. Makeup artist Pat McGrath took it a step further by canceling out brows.
Christian Siriano
Face embellishment is no longer a one-off thing. It's becoming a regular feature at the shows. See: Christian Siriano. Makeup artist Erin Parsons made faces look like the prettiest constellations thanks to randomly placed diamantés. The blue mascara made the look even dreamier.
Mary Katrantzou
Think you've seen every version of rainbow hair on the runway? Think again. At Mary Katrantzou, hair dream team stylist Anthony Turner and colorist Josh Wood clipped hand-painted, multicolored hair pieces to models' natural hair. Warning: You're going to want a permanent version.
ADEAM
Global artistry director for NARS Cosmetics Sada Ito took a literal approach to pearly inner eye corners by using pearly studs instead of eyeshadow at ADEAM. Nail artist Mei Kawajiri brought the beauty look together by decorating nails with similar embelishments in different sizes.
Balmain
Hairstylist Sam McKnight created a chain reaction at Balmain thanks to the low ponytails topped with linked headbands. The patent baker boy caps were cool, but it was the hairbands that stole the show.
Christian Dior
There was no mistaking the mod mood at Dior. Makeup artist Peter Philips gave models a proper Twiggy makeover by drawing thick strokes on the bottom lash line using pigment. Then he colored in lids with liquid liner. The look can be recreated at home using only liner.
Byblos
Those who forgot it was the Fall/Winter 2019 season were reminded with the proper ice queen look at Byblos. The iced-out hair and makeup played into the "crystallized" theme of the show brilliantly.
Asai
The Asai Fall 2019 show took negative space eyeliner to new heights with proper wings that encircled the entire eye. Some might have missed the liner because they were distracted by the "ceramicist’s fingers." Nail technician Sylvie Macmillan covered digits with clay. Other models' fingers were gilded in gold leaf.
Aigner
The beauty at Aigner was brimming with romance. Models' eyes, lips and cheeks were washed with sheer tones of muted pink and warm purple. Swoon.
Gucci
The spiky masks at Gucci might have been the stuff of nightmares, but these FX tears were the right side of creepy-cool. Glitter tears they are not. Only with Alessandro Michele ...
Bora Aksu
Crochet headpieces combined with silver, double-flicked eyeliner had a futuristic ice queen vibe that worked. FYI: The Bora Aksu show was inspired by the first woman to go into space, Valentina Tereshkova.
Area
There were a lot of blinged-out faces during fashion month. Area brought the shine up to the scalp with rhinestone headpieces and clips. It demonstrated the best complement to bedazzled headwear is more shine with ornate swirling earrings.
Michael Kors
Hairstylist Orlando Pita swung it back to the 1970s with crimped curls at the Michael Kors Fall 2019 show. This lived-in purple eyeshadow is in keeping with the time period, but still modern and cool. Note the lack of mascara.
Halpern
All our disco dreams came true at Halpern thanks to makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench. She created a watercolor effect by applying electric pigments on the eye area then layering gold leaf on top. Nails were equally bold with gradient stripes of shimmering nail polishes.
Emporio Armani
There was no dialing down the Parisian glamour at Emporio Armani. The just-bitten red lips and hats were très chic. What kept it interesting were the dashes of steel gray liner and the dusting of white to tone down brows.
Collina Strada
Watercolor tones are referenced a lot in beauty. It was more literal at Collina Strada where models' eyes (and brows) looked pretty as a picture with splotches of different pastel tones.
Iceberg
Choose a bold shade and coordinate lips, tips and even clothes, like at Iceberg. Make it extra by embellishing nails with rhinestones and sweeping on electric liquid liner on top of bold eyeshadow.
Marco De Vincenzo
Whether born with freckles or not, everyone is going to want a sprinkling of diamanté "freckles" across the nose and cheeks a la Marco De Vincenzo. Shimmering earrings are the perfect frame.
Genny
Searching for a unique beauty look that works for real life? Look no further than the flirty hair and makeup at Genny. Tuck strands into an undone updo then dab on a red-pink lip color. The game-changer is the white highlight in the inner corners of the eye with white mascara on the bottom lashes.
Dries Van Noten
At Dries Van Noten, makeup artist Peter Philips showed the beauty of leaving some skin exposed between different flecks of glitter. There was no shortage of shine, yet it managed to have an insouciant vibe.
Ryan Lo
One doesn't always need to wear red lipstick to evoke a retro mood, as evidenced by the fuchsia lips at Ryan Lo. Of course, it always helps if hair is styled in prim curls.
Chanel
Sam McKnight gave models (and celebrities) a memorable exit at Chanel. Center-parted half updos were decorated at the back of the head with ribbons, jeweled clips, camellias and fluffy hair accessories.
Valentino
Who says that pastels are just for spring? Not Valentino, which had select models with lilac eyeshadow smudged on their eyes. Others wore pink, green and red.
House of Holland
Who's feeling blue? Color lover House of Holland coordinated the graphic nail art with the bright eyeshadow.
Lanvin
Inner corners are traditionally highlighted with ivory shades, but select models at Lanvin got an icy upgrade. It's a gorgeous way to wear pastel makeup.

It’s time to put away our slingback flats, because fashion month has officially drawn to a close after weeks of breathtaking clothes and beauty looks. Before everyone breaks and indulges in some spa time at home, we need to dissect all of the hair, makeup and nail looks we’ve seen. There were too many enviable beauty looks from the Fall 2019 shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris to wait.
From the moment the shows kicked off, some key trends became clear. Flashy hair accessories, statement eye makeup, glitter and red lip variations defined the beauty mood. That’s not to say things felt repetitive — not at all. The maverick makeup artists, hairstylists, manicurists and colorists backstage know how to keep things fresh. They threw a few surprises that bucked emerging trends. We were swept away the entire time, so choosing the best beauty looks wasn’t easy.
